The city of Szarvas with its 16.500 inhabitants is the district center of a 485 km2 area including 6 settlements with altogether 25 thousand people. The city is about 75 km to the East of the central point of Hungary. Szarvas is located on the main road No. 44 next to the Körös river about 150 km from the capital Budapest and 50 km from the County Town Bekescsaba. The nearest border is the Romanian in 65 km distance.
The city has a favorable geographical location. The fastest access to the city is the M44 motorway through Exit 71 just near the Western border of the town. The city is connected to the international European railway line with a 20 km branch line. There are good geographical opportunities for the expansion of economic contacts, and maximum utilization of the growing market period, which comes from the EU enlargement.
